Put Your Arms Around Me And I'm Home

I am snuggled up on the big chair beside the wood stove in the big room. As my sister would say, THIS IS THE LIFE! My entire right side is hot to touch from the stove, but it's lovely considering how cold it is outside. The wind is blowing so hard that the draft in the stove is whistling, and the tree branches are scratching against the windows. My H2B is off with his brother and I am nestled into my happy place with my computer and the Food Network.

We bought our house in January. This is the second house we owned together, but the first home. My heart is definitely here. I am so proud of our space, we worked hard to make it our own and make it that comforting place you look forward to coming home to everyday.

Growing up I couldn't wait to pack up and move to a big city. I lived in a city for a few years but had to let go when G was offered a position in our home town. While everyone was moving away to work, we were moving home. I felt it was a step in the wrong direction for us, I was sad to leave the life we built together in the city. I never imagined moving back home, but G couldn't refuse the position he was offered. We had to get used to a different pace, but we had our families and the timing was perfect. Within the first year of being home we lost two very important people in our lives, and both of us couldn't imagine being anywhere but home. Being able to live and work close to our loved ones has been a blessing. With a Wedding in our near future, and the hope of filling this house up with kids someday, I know there is so much happiness to come. A lifetime of adventure and so much room to grow.
